The food can be simple or it can be quite complex and "gourmet." Just look at the pictures on any raw food restaurant website to see the stunning dishes of what can be created.
There's really no such thing as a typical raw food diet--Just like there's no such thing as a typical cooked food diet. The raw, living food, diet is a vegan, or animal product-free, diet consisting of plant foods that have not been heated above approximately 118% F. It consists of uncooked, and preferably organic, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and grains. Other foods are fermented foods (such as rejuvelac, sauerkraut, and kefir), sprouted legumes and grains, young grasses and sprouts, herbs, flowers, roots, and superfoods such as sea vegetables, bee pollen, and algaes. This food has all the life force energy from the and all its enzymes still intact when we eat it. Everyone has different tastes, body types, lifestyles. It can be more fun and exiting to make fancier recipes if already like cooking food and have some time to spend time and experiment in the kitchen, but it is definitely not necessary and probably not the healthiest option if you'd prefer to eat a low-fat raw food diet. |
