If you're looking to sow seeds in your garden I would recommend mixing the seeds with silver sand or wallpaper paste so the seeds don't get sown too close together. If you have herbs in your garden I would always recommend washing them well before. You may find hedgehogs, cats, frog etc at the bottom of the pile.

If you plan to have a bonfire to get rid of rubbish it's sauncho checking the pile for animals before you light it. This will still give you your pond but will enable it to be shallower so if your child falls in you don't have to worry too much. If you have a sand pit for your children I would strongly recommend using a cover for it so that the local cats in the area don't use it as a communal toilet.
