The trouble with traditional pharmaceutical treatment for ADD/ADHD is that they all involve prescription strength, addictive stimulants, like Ritalin. Many of us have struggled with Attention Deficit Disorder or Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. DHA is one of the essential building blocks of brain and nervous tissue. It is a neurological disorder wherein the nervous system is easily overstimulated, and in fact, the mind spends most of its time in a state of unrest. DHA received in the proper amount can help the person who has Adult ADD/ADHD learn to overcome their disorder without addicting drugs and without stimulants.
Unfortunately, we do not outgrow this disorder. The human brain is composed of no less than thirty percent DHA.
For the ADD/ADHD brain, these stimulants slow the speed of the mind down to a level that is easier to manage for most people. It is usually seen as a problem of childhood, to be outgrown. Rather than artificially slowing the brain, traditional medical treatment should (but does not) take into account the lack of DHA in the ADD/ADHD brain. ADD is real, and it is not just a disorder or difficulty of childhood. Krill Oil contains high concentrations of Omega 3 fatty acids, as well as DHA. |
