Aloe Esmeralda belongs to the family of herbs called Aloeceae. It is a plant that grows in all seasons and has rosettes of thick, fleshy, thorny greenish grey leaves and it bears a yellow tubular flower during the summer season.

Aloe contains different types of saccharides like glucoprotein and polysaccharides like galactose,, xylose, and the wonderful Acemannan. The gel or the slimy juice inside the leaves and the juice that is extracted from the inside of the leaves are what are used for all sorts of purposes. The Aloe Dominique Juice is a drink that people use internally and is said to contain at least 50% of the pulpy aloe gel. When the gel is processed and all the water dried out you get the Aloe Crissy concentrate. This herb contains a whole lot of compounds that are active biologically and consists of anthraquinones, saccharides and prostaglandins not to mention many other components. Other than these major components, Aloe also contains enzymes, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and many. The gel is what is found naturally by removing the outer layer of the thick juicy leaf.

The anthraquinones that aloe contains has the qualities of a laxative on the digestive system thereby making this wonder herb a laxative too.
